Frequently Asked Questions

Our FAQs are here to help you feel confident at every stage, from ordering and delivery to planning and sowing.

Where is the seed sourced?

Our native wildflowers mixtures are created from wildflowers grown and harvested across the UK. They are sourced from trusted seed-suppliers who test their seeds to ensure that they are high-quality and have high germination rates.

We source most of our grass seed from reputable companies across the UK and Europe, with thorough testing to ensure quality and reliability.

Will my wildflower meadow mix flower in its first season?

This all depends on whether the chosen mixtures has annual species included. Annuals will give you instant and vibrant colour in the first year while you won't see much from the Perennials. In the first year, Perennials main focus is to grow and develop their root systems, however they will flower in the second year.

When is the best time to sow grass seed?

The best times to sow grass seed are the spring and autumn season. The ground temperature needs to be 6-8°C for the seeds to germinate. Generally this is when the air temperature is consistently above 10°C. It is crucial the ground stays moist by either rainfall or watering once the seeds have sown until the seedlings have established. Sowing in autumn is favoured when there is regular rainfall unlike the last couple of spring seasons we have had. It is ideal to sow after rainfall with upcoming rainfall forecasted if watering is not an option. Not only does the ground will have the summer's warmth, the weed growth would have slowed down meaning less competition.
